IRON LADIES FOR INDIA'S FREEDOM

IRON LADIES FOR INDIA'S FREEDOM

History has witnessed many women with exceptional bravery and intelligence, who walked shoulder to shoulder with men of their times. Let us remember women of the freedom movement era, who fought bravely for their country and contributed towards the achievement of independence of the country India. They are still a source of inspiration to not only women but to all.

Kittur Rani Chinammma

She is regarded as one of the bravest women in Karnataka even today. She was the queen of a princely state of Kittur in Karnataka who led an armed rebellion in 1824 against the British. She was eventually arrested in the end of the rebellion but even today, Chennamma’s legacy and the first victory of war are still commemorated in Kittur from 22nd–24th October,  in the Kittur Utsav. She became a symbol of one of the first resistances against the British in the Independence movement. Her statue was unveiled in the Parliament House complex in 2007.
Savitribhai Phule

One of the pioneers of women’s education in India during the British rule, even after being subjected to insults and rebuke, she continued in her endeavour to provide education for the girls and the women of this country in the middle and the later parts of the 19th century. Seen as a major social reformer in British India, she, along with her husband, founded the first women’s school in India at Bhide Wada, Pune in 1848. She always fought for women rights and even for those who were considered untouchables in those times.

Begum Hazrat Mahal

She was a brave figure of the National Uprising of 1857, the First War of Independence. She took control of Lucknow during this Uprising and declared her son as the King of Oudh. On 10 May 1984, the Government of India issued a commemorative stamp in honour of Mahal. She has also been named as the ‘Lakshmi Bai’ of Awadh due to her strength and valour, shown during the 1857 mutiny.
Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi

She is an epitome of strength and courage displayed by a woman. In fact, her bravado is often attributed to the iconic picture of the Rani fighting the British in the battlefield with her son, Damodar Rao tied to her on the horseback. She was the Maratha queen of Jhansi, who resisted the British and even defied the Doctrine of Lapse, according to which the British rulers refused to accept her adopted son Damodar as the legal heir. Between 1857-58, she resisted the British from taking control over her kingdom of Jhansi.

Bhikaiji Cama

She is best known for inspiring and revolutionary speeches, advocating gender equality in both India and abroad. Many revolutionary literary works were produced by her and she gave a number of fiery speeches of a nationalist hue before enthusiastic audiences. She was a stalwart who took the issues of the subcontinent to foreign and tried to get the world’s attention on the issues plaguing the Indian nation. On 22 August 1907, at the International Socialist Conference in Stuttgart, Germany, Cama raised and unfurled what she called the “First flag of Independence”.

 Kamala Nehru

An eminent freedom fighter, besides being the wife of the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, she actively took part in the Swadeshi movement and arranged for the burning of foreign goods as a mark of protest against the Empire. Spent a large part of her time in Gandhiji’s Ashram, trying to imbibe the ideals of Gandhi-ism. She was a major force behind the Non-cooperation movement in 1921. In fact, during her lifetime and even later on, she was addressed to as JL Nehru’s wife more than anything else. Despite being under the constant shadow of India’s one of the most popular leaders, she carved a niche for herself by encouraging women’s groups to participate in the freedom struggle and also went to jail twice under the British rule.
Sarojini Naidu

The ‘Nightingale of India’, was a spirited freedom activist and a poet, who took part in the Civil Disobedience movement of 1930-34. She even went to jail with the likes of MK Gandhi and others of the Indian National Congress in British India. She joined the INC in the wake of the partition of Bengal in 1905. Became the first woman governor of independent India. Her collection of poems are still considered as important Indian writing in English, even though many consider them to be of mediocre literary content. She was given the Kaisir-i-Hind medal by the British government for her work during the plague epidemic in India

Sucheta Kriplani (Mazumdar)

She came into the forefront of the freedom struggle during the Quit India movement in 1942. Played a role in allaying communal tensions during the partition riots in 1946-47. She was a part of the subcommittee that drafted the Indian Constitution. She was also the founder of All India Mahilla Congress, which came into existence in 1940. Post independence, she was involved actively in public life and Indian politics. She was the first woman Chief Minister in India and served a term between 1963 to 1967 in the state ofUttar Pradesh.

HOW TO ENJOY YOUR SUCCESS FULLY

Going through a process or activities is one kind of joy, achieving the result in desired term is another. We generally associate joy exclusively with the final outcome. Playing a tennis or a football is a joyful activity while wining is another kind.

Why should we want the joy and sense of fulfillment we get from winning? An exclusive concern with only winning sucks the life out of games.

We have desires. We make our best effort to fulfill it. But we should make sure that we enjoy the best efforts made too rather than it’s only fruits.

There are those who make efforts and remain tense unless they achieve the desired result. They exhaust themselves, loose energy and some precious moments of life and surroundings while performing the activities and enjoy only after winning. I feel this is not correct. Joy is a continual sense or a feeling of wining at last.

For example when you decide that you will be happy only when you become the director of your company you are working for. Then you are postponing the moment of your happiness to a point in the future. You will be happy only when you attain that position.

In so many engineering/science projects with completion date of 2-3 years, engineers &scientists enjoy and celebrate all major milestone activities and also celebrate the final activities on completion of the projects. Celebration and enjoyment in process rejuvenate you for your next activities and successful completion.

Failure is a fact of life. In some we win and in some we lose. Therefore let us enjoy our efforts too rather than enjoying only the outcome.

THERE IS NEITHER BAD NOR GOOD, ONLY LOVE!

Should we not observe not only our lives but also what is going on around us?  The conflict, the violence, the despair, the sorrow, the meaningless existence that one leads. And to escape from that we resort to all kinds of sectarian beliefs.

Social Gurus are mushrooming in our society. They are bringing their own particular their traditions and imposing it on others; that is not religion.

So it is prudent, as I perceive, not only that we must bring about a change in the world outside us, but also a total revolution psychologically, inwardly. I will accrue change in the social structure, in our relationship, in our whole activity of life.

To understand conflict fully, we will have to understand relationship, and the understanding of relationship does not depend on memory, on habit, on what has been or what should be.It depends on choice-less awareness from moment to moment, and if we go into it deeply, we shall see that in that awareness there is no accumulative process at all.

The moment there is accumulation, there is a point from which to examine, and that point is conditioned; and hence, when we regard relationship from a fixed point, there must be pain, there must be conflict.

I wonder if there is such a thing as evil. Please give your attention, go with me, and let us enquire together. We say there is good and evil. There is envy and love, and we say that envy is evil and love is good. Why do we divide life, calling this good and that bad, thereby creating the conflict of the opposites?

Not that there is no envy , hate, brutality in the human mind and heart, an absence of compassion, love, but why do we divide life into the thing called good and the thing called evil? Is there not actually only one thing, which is a mind that is inattentive? Surely, when there is complete attention, that is, when the mind is totally aware, alert, watchful, there is no such thing as evil or good; there is only an awakened state.

Goodness then is not a quality, not a virtue, it is a state of love. When there is love, there is neither good nor bad, there is only love. When you really love somebody, you are not thinking of good or bad, your whole being is filled with that love. It is only when there is the cessation of complete attention, of love, that there comes the conflict between what i am and what i should be. Then that which i am is evil, and that which i should be is the so-called good.

ENDEAVOUR PLUS DESTINY

Endeavour Plus Destiny

Is our life predestined? Or is it in our hands? Modern thought has deemed that our endeavour alone determines our success. But with many unpredictable and uncontrollable factors determining results, synergy of effort & destiny are called for.

A brilliant student, for instance, despite diligent studies, gets average marks, whereas a mediocre student, with last-minute cramming, gets high grades. Why? Are we just unwitting players in a cosmic lottery, with chance as the supreme arbiter? Or are results handed down by destiny? Mahabharata clarifies, “Destiny determines the results of our actions, not our actions themselves“.

Vedic texts explain that these two ideologies, karmavada (endeavour alone determines success) and daivavada (destiny alone determines success) are the two extremes of human thoughts. In reality, success requires both endeavour and destiny. For example, in agriculture, a good harvest requires both diligent ploughing and timely rains.

A brilliant student despite diligent studies gets average marks whereas a mediocre student gets high grades. These things are there in the society. Are results handled down by destiny? Destiny determines the results of our actions, not our actions. Believe in both. Perform your action with zeal to excel. If destiny favors, your endevour will lead to your desired goal.

WHEN TO EDIT YOUR CAREER?

WHEN TO EDIT YOUR CAREER?

When to edit or change career? Perhaps when you just begin to lose interest. Perhaps when you find something else that interests you more. Perhaps when your company is downsizing. Perhaps when you start thinking to be an entrepreneur. These are just some of the numerous reasons people find themselves their jobs boring and they want to think afresh to be fresh with zeal to excel in what they think best.
Think of your life and its purpose. The yield that you aimed for yourself or for your family or little bit for others along with yourself. Take it slowly and make sure what you really want to do is edit your careers. Then use these 7 plans, and you will be on much more sure footing — and on a path toward career change success. Finally, remember that career change is a natural life progression; most studies show that the average job-seeker will change careers several times over the course of his or her lifetime.
Step 1: Review of opportunities, likes and Dislikes. A lot of people change careers because they dislike their job, their boss, their company and they visualize new opportunities ahead. So, identifying the dislikes is often the easier part of this step; however, you will not know what direction to change your career unless you examine your likes. What do you really like doing when you’re at work, when you’re at home – in your spare time? What excites you and energizes you? What’s your passion? If you’re really unsure, consider taking one of more of these career assessments. The key is spending some time rediscovering yourself — and using your self-assessment to direct your new career search.
Step 2: Evaluating New Careers. Once you’ve discovered (or rediscovered) your passion, spend some time researching and evaluating the types of careers that center on your passions. Don’t worry if you’re feeling a bit unsure or insecure — it’s a natural part of the career change process. How much research you do also partly depends on how much of a change you’re making; for example, changing from a teacher to a corporate trainer versus switching from a nurse to a Web designer, employee to employer.
Step 3: Equipping self with new Skills. Leverage some of your current new skills and experiences to your new career. There are many skills (such as communications, leadership, planning, and others) that are transferable and applicable to what you want to do in your new career. You may be surprised to see that you already have a solid amount of experience for your new career. If you may find it necessary to update your skills and broaden your knowledge, do it. If the skill you need to learn is one you could use in your current job, see if your current employer would be willing to pick up the tab. Take a course or two to ensure you really like the subject matter. If you are going for a new degree or certification, make sure you check the accreditation of the school, and get some information about placement successes.
Step 4: Networking & liaison. One of the real keys to successfully changing careers will be your networking. People in your network may be able to give you job leads, offer you advice and information about a particular company or industry, and introduce you to others so that you can expand your network. Even if you don’t think you already have a network, you probably do – consider colleagues, friends, and family members. You can broaden your network through joining professional organizations in your new field and contacting alumni from your college who are working in the field you want to enter.
5: Find a Mentor. Changing careers is a major life decision that can get overwhelming at times. Find a mentor who can help you through the rough patches. Your mentor may also be able to help you by taking advantage of his or her network. A mentor doesn’t have to be a highly placed individual, though the more powerful the mentor, the more success you may have in using that power to your advantage.
Step 6: Be Flexible. You’ll need to be flexible about nearly everything – from your employment status to relocation, salary and new setup. Set positive goals for yourself and your family, but expect setbacks and change – and don’t let these things get you down.

Step 7: Think & Grow Rich.
If you want to be an entrepreneur, you need to come up with your own ideas, instead of relying on others (like your employees or business associates). And once you get an idea, you need to start executing it and putting it to action.

"ALWAYS SAY YES, NEVER SAY NO! HOW TO STOP SAYING NO WHEN YOU WANT TO SAY YES!"

"Always Say Yes, Never Say No! How to Stop Saying No When You Want to Say Yes!"

When & Why?

Have you ever noticed how frequently we often say No?  I think most of the time. Saying No may sometime is refusal to fresh ideas, new possibilities, new opportunities and the chance to make unexpected gains & discoveries. Whenever you say “No” to life, you miss an opportunity, to discover something new, to try something you haven’t tried before, to learn and grow, to find some aspect of yourself or others that you missed before. There might be untapped opportunities to know, grow and gain. It is a negative aspect of saying No which debar your from life’s opportunities/discoveries/new dimensions. Positive aspect of saying yes is living life fullest.
Let us explore some of the events/works/areas wherein always saying yes will lead to a more enjoyable life.

1. Say “Yes” to most adventure. Never say no.
Adventure is good. You get connected with nature. You get thrilled when you see unseen places, mountains, rivers, trees, birds, civilization and different ways of life. If such offers are there, say always yes.
2. Say “Yes” to good cause. Never say no.
Good cause and charity things are opportunities to experience the cycle of giving and receiving. Society receives help and reciprocate. You should say yes to all these activities happening around you and beyond.
3. Say “Yes!” to community fairs, fests and fashions. Never say no.
This is a great way to meet people, interact with them, know them better and support the community affairs/events.
Do you know your neighbors properly? You might be living in the same apartment, locality & town for years and you might not have opportunity to talk to them freely. Here is the chance to interact and enjoy togetherness.
4. Say “Yes!” to talking with new people. Never say no
As children, it may not be safe to talk to strangers. But as an adult, such avoidance can cost you some of the most wonderful experiences of your life. People have made friends, found future spouses, and made great business contacts by opening themselves up to people in everyday experiences. Start with a smile—and if you get a smile back—see if you’re inspired to spark something up. Even starting with the weather can turn into a short heart-to-heart exchange that will brighten that person’s day and bring happiness, belonging, too!
5. Say “Yes!” to volunteering. Never say no.
Many minds & hands make the work go faster! Organizations can’t function without volunteers. Many activities and events wouldn’t be possible without volunteers. Volunteering can also give you a new experience.
Lead volunteer efforts or create your own volunteer opportunities and get connected with people. There are many areas. Offer free tutoring at the library or offer your time to a local nursing home. Your action may mean the creation of something new and wonderful!
6. Say “Yes!” to the favor. Never say no.
You do not want to say yes to every favor asked. But think carefully before you say “No.” If you can make the time and spare your some resources, you can really make a difference in another person’s life, and it will come back to you positively in one form or another.

7. Say “Yes!” to that awkward thing (that pushes your comfort zone). Never say no.
Sometime we don’t want to do it—it’s awkward! If it’s making you squirmy and it’s continuously nagging at you, it’s probably time to take action. You’ll feel better when it’s done, and you’ll have grown in the process. If this thing is a skill that you haven’t gotten yet, practice, practice, and practice! And don’t be afraid to get some help from others. Over time, the practice will become a part of you; you’ll become a master, and you’ll be able to help someone else who is struggling with the same thing.
8. Say “Yes!” to listening to your body. Never say no.
What our body actually needs, Say “yes” to your body’s needs—it knows best. How often do you listen to your body? Look to the thoughts behind your cravings and learn to differentiate between your emotional needs and physical cravings. Get to know your body type and what foods and eating patterns work best for you. If you’re craving certain foods, look at the nutritional content of those foods to see what your body might be missing. Also, remember to chew slowly and try not to multi-task while you eat. This will give your body the time and attention it needs to communicate to you what it needs. Don’t neglect the body! Keep it happy, healthy, and satisfied to ensure an enjoyable, fulfilling day!
9. Say “Yes!” to “me time.” Never say no.
Few of us are very good at giving ourselves “me time.” Too much obsessives, and over-achievers-.Extremes can ruin your life. The key is balance .Putting in lots of hours can look like a great service, but you’re doing no one a favor. Take some time to think about the things that make you happy, just for you. Pick at least one thing, one activity —no matter how small—and do it. Frequently! If not every day, every week. Excitement is contagious! So find your passion, let yourself go, and get re-energized with life! You’ll have fun, be happy, and you’ll inspire others in your life to do the same.
10. Say “Yes” to outing. Never say no.
This applies to everyone. Don’t have a “break”? Take yourself out. You must love watching movies, long driving & meeting with friends. Take some time out to have fun and show some special attention to the ones you love.

11. Say yes to more things that are not your preference. Never say no.
Saying yes keeps you in the flow, pulls for creativity, and makes it more fun. You’re not saying yes that you approve of them, but—for example—yes it’s raining at my picnic, yes people are poor and hungry across the planet, yes my career has stalled, , yes my dear friend has cancer. Yes that’s the way it is. Yes to being in traffic. Yes to the job you have. Yes to the body you have.

HOW TO WIN ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN INDIA WITH DIGITAL MARKETING

How to win assembly elections in India with digital Marketing

With following assembly elections due in 2016, digital marketing will be an effective tool for mass conversion:
1] West Bengal
2] Assam
3] Pondicherry
4] Tamil Nadu
5] Kerala
Digital Marketing is the art of creating awareness, forming impressions, persuasion and leading individuals to take a specific desired action.

While conventional marketing is generally used for products or services, digital marketing can effectively be used to win elections.
The unseen force behind Mr Nitish Kumar’s victory in Bihar is the man who once crafted Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi’s national election campaign. Mr Prashant Kishor has emerged as the man with the Midas touch.
Mr Kishor started preparing his digital and conventional campaign strategy for Mr Nitish Kumar’s re-election as Bihar Chief Minister way back in March 2015.

Mr Kishor quieted a UN health expert’s job in Africa in 2011 to return to India and form a team of young professionals who worked to project Mr Modi as the face of good governance for the Gujarat elections in 2012 and then the national election last year.

Although off let since last Parliamentary election, and for that matter past few assembly elections, there have been craze to manage the election campaign by the political parties like some product or film marketing. Management , marketing guys, and management strategists started using the electronic and social media for branding the political leader as any a market product, using a large contingent of young technology savvy engineers and management graduates,
Gathering electorate data & analysing with the help of scientific tools help designing poll campaign. Slogans and banners can be prepared accordingly.
This becomes the basis for understanding which districts / areas should receive targeted marketing, and what kind of message should be transmitted in each village.
If a village or district has a majority support, the message should urge people toward voting in the election.
In case the potential seemed high but voting is low, the message detailing the importance of voting for their preferred candidate should be stronger.

If the districts/villages may swing votes, the message should detail what the preferred candidate has to offer, and focus on increasing their likeability score in the targeted areas.
Popular slogans or songs created by digital marketer are always there with the voters and when they go for voting, they vote for the candidate accordingly.
With conventional marketing like newspapers, radio and TV, each candidate speaks to the masses, and has to give a single message to a diverse audience. With digital marketing, however, candidates can reach out to each village, city and entire state with catchy slogan on social media as almost half of the population is internet savvy.
By understanding villages and their family profiles and breaking these down to the smallest possible fragments, tailoring the messages to hit each voter on a personal level, you can tailor your pitch to what really matters to them.
Digital marketer can create a video for each topic that is important to voters in the upcoming election, then create YouTube campaigns to feature. People who are actively looking to watch videos on those topics will see the candidate’s video.
